I have a SS who is a Harley fan and wanted to do some altered items for her. It is a Christmas swap so I have a festive bike - so here is an altered c.d. I did for her, sentiment courtesy of my DD - madcapfrenzy.
This week I had to do three different winter cards for card club and swaps. I found besides snowmen I have very few winter stamps that aren't Christmas. This card had to be non - traditional colors, also. I like pink and black together - it really works for me. This is our house in winter, looks so cozy - a cozy cottage in a blanket of snow! brrrrr!
I have recently gotten into altering more items. I cased this idea from a blog - sorry can't find it now. But I actually had these boxes left over from a folk art workshop I do for children, so I didn't even have to go out and buy them. The hardest thing was finding pixie sticks, went to four stores and only found them at one and I had to buy 120 of them - should last me awhile! I think they turned out quite cute. One is for my SS - shhh!
I am in a one on one swap and my partner wanted a notebook with flourishes. I felt the black and white combo was perfect. I love all the bling, almost wanted to keep it - even has the right initial, but it is off this week in the mail.
I used the sketch this week from A Spoon Full of Sugar to make this card for a Halloween swap I am in. Once in awhile I really like a sketch and then use it for a couple of cards, this is one of those sketches.
Today I wanted to make some cards for my church's card minstry, I try and do a set a month. So new month, I needed to make some. I decided to use the digiment sentiment for this week and I used my new nesties.
I have been doing the challenges this week over at Stampin' Out Alzheimers and yesterday I went to a small rubber stamp show they were demoing Flower Soft everywhere, so had to try some off it out. So here is my card with flower soft and this week's digiment sentiment.
As stated in the previous post this week I have been participating in some of the challenges over on the Stamp Out Alzheimers site and this sketch is from the Little Paper Shop. I made it in pink so I could enter it in this weeks challenge for My Time to Craft and added all sorts of bling for the Cute Card Thursday challenge - bit o' bling.
I have been participating in some of the card challenges in the Stamp Out Alzhemers week long event and they have so many contests over there. This card used one of the sketches from that site. This card is also for Papertake - Scrap this and uses some of the scraps I hand onto. Also, it is for Daring Cardmakers challenge which was to use five something - five eyelets. Lastly, it is for Fun Frilled challenge to use 4 eyelets - I use five because - number one I never use an even number and two I wanted to use it for Daring Cardmakers challenge, too. I absolutely avoid eyelets at all cost, they drive me batty, but I bought a fancy spring loaded eyelet setter at a stamp show in the fall and have never used it. So I dug it out and after a few unsuccessful tries, finally got it to work - yeah! I might even use it again soon.
Me or my it has been awhile since I posted a card. Been on vacation and just now getting caught up. This is a card I made for my swap partner on recipezaar - it was a flip flop swap so had to make her a flip flop card.
This is almost my last image to make for the make a card from the image swap, one more to finish and I am done. It has been challenging and I have gotten to try out several different sketch challenges in the process. Today for this card I used the Spoon Full of Sugar sketch.
For this card I used this week's Truly Scrumptious sketch and used a ton of scraps from my scrap bag for the Fun Frilled challenge. The image is one from the swap I am doing where I received 8 images to make 8 cards. Sort of cute!
I am presently doing a swap where I was sent eight different images, one from each of my swap partners. I will make a card from each image and send them back to the hostess which will distribute them back to us. Each of us will then have eight cards with the same image, but of course all different. The images are as varied as the people in the swap - I have vintage, humorous, cutesy, etc. So I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash challenge this week to do this particular card. This image definitely was a challenge for me.
I love making cards and I love stamping, but last weekend I spent an entire weekend stamping with friends from SCS from Michigan. It was great fun and I had a great time chatting, doing challenges and stamping and stamping. I decided this week I actually was stamped out (GASP!) and decided to make a couple of Easter cards without stamping. HL was having a 50% off all Easter items and I picked up a package of 3 of the cutest chicks and just had to use them on a card. So Happy Easter and I am already over my stamp funk and ready to stamp away again this weekend at Archivers with some friends.
I made this card using the Our Creative Corner sketch for their challenge this week. I plan on making a few more using this design for my church - I donate a set of cards a month to them and this will be the one for April.
